How to Book Indian Railway Tickets from Mobile Phone

Indian Railways launched new service of SMS based ticket booking service for helping common people who uses no Internet supported mobile phones or those doesn't have smartphones. IRCTC will make railway ticket booking even easier through SMS or menu-based USSD technology which works on all simple mobile phones.

• Book ticket
• Search for Stations
• Check trains
• Check PNR Status
• Cancellation of Ticket

Requirements

• Mobile Phone
• Bank account with Mobile Banking Service
• Registration of your mobile number at IRCTC and in your bank

* Bank Provides SMS ID and Password to the User

How to Book Ticket

 1)  Send an sms to 139 in this format:

TRAIN-Number , Destination Station , Date , Passenger Name , Age

  2)  Now You will get reply:

 Your Transaction ID , Ticket number and seat details

 3)  Now you have to send:

Transaction ID , SMS ID and Password you got from the bank.

 For Cancellation 

• Send SMS:  

PNR Number , Passenger Name

*Note: Each SMS  cost Rs.3/-
*Note: Gateway Charges are Rs.5 for tickets upto Rs.5000/ and Rs.10/- for the tickets above Rs.5000/
